Under NCAA rules, individuals who wish to tryout for a team with Sun Devil Athletics:
- Must be enrolled full time to ASU as a degree seeking student at one of ASU's four ground campuses (not online only).
- Must receive a physical exam or provide proof of a physical exam administered by a medical doctor, physician’s assistant, or nurse practitioner within the past six months and proof of sickle cell test results (and provides other information required by sports medicine like proof of insurance).
- Cannot be a NCAA nonqualifier.
The decision to hold tryouts is within the sole discretion of the head coach for each sport, so please do not contact the Compliance Office with question relating to whether a sport is holding tryouts and when they may be held - contact the sport staff instead.
